Congratulations Dr. Wood

CONGRATULATIONS DR. WOOD

Please join the staff at Cypress Family Dental in congratulating Dr. Wood on achieving DIPLOMATE OF THE AMERICAN BOARD OF DENTAL SLEEP MEDICINE.

Dr. Wood worked very hard and studied lots of hours in preparation for the diplomate test which he took in Boston on June 10, 2012. We are so proud of you Dr. Wood and look forward to working with you in helping more patients to stop snoring and sleep better.

Over the weekend, Dr. Wood attended a seminar on Mini Dental Implants.  For those of you who don't know, implants are a revolutionary alternative to dentures.  Implants are simple: a series of miniature titanium alloy implants are surgically placed in the bone of your jaw, and act as the root of the tooth.  The head of the implant is shaped like a ball, which snaps into an O-ring within the denture to hold the denture in place.  The Mini Implants are more comfortable than traditional implants and dentures, and can be placed in just a few hours in our office, using local anesthesia.

Are you a candidate for Mini Implants?  Ask Dr. Wood today!

Welcome, Ashley!

As promised, this is the second post to welcome our new employee, Ashley Torii. Here's what Ashley has to say about herself:

I grew up in a small town in Southern California and was lucky to spend summer in Michigan at our lake house. In my spare time I enjoy catering and spending my time with family and friends. I enjoy reading, bike riding and spending time outdoors. I love traveling and exploring new places. I am a huge foodie, I love to cook throw dinner parties, cater for friends weddings and other events. I am Italian/ Scottish so food has been a family staple!
At the age of 15 I was in a terrible sand buggy accident where I was ejected from the waist up and it crushed my face. After 4 months of healing, doctors visits and a 12 hour surgery I looked into working in the dental field. I planned on going to hygiene school, but after assisting for 1 year or so I enjoyed working in the front more. I have taken many classes to help me become more educated in insurance billing, dental treatment and all things dental.

If you haven't met Ashley, come by our office to say hi. We are so pleased to have her with us!

Welcome, Lisa!

This is the first of two blog posts we will be doing, to introduce our two new employees, Lisa Legrone and Ashley Torii.

First we'd like to introduce Lisa Legrone. Here is what she has to say about herself:

I am the Treatment Coordinator for Cypress Family Dental. I get the honor of scheduling your appointments.

I was born and raised in Southern California, but prefer it when it is cool and rainy; as opposed to when it's warm and sunny, as most Californians do.

In my spare time I like to be with friends and family, go window shopping, do all kinds of arts & crafts, play games, and watch movies.

See you soon!

Finances Tight? We Can Help

Americans are spending less on health care, according to an article published in the Orange County Register two weeks ago. Patients are postponing treatment and visiting the doctor less frequently in an effort to save money. This trend includes visiting the dentist.

However, this can have far-reaching consequences on patients' health. Cavities left untreated can lead to root canals and crowns, or extractions. What may be a small problem can quickly turn into a large problem.

Dr. Wood is sympathetic to patients who are struggling in our current economy. We will work with you financially so that your dental health doesn't suffer. Call us today if it's been a while since your last visit, and let us help you keep your smile, and your wallet, healthy.
